Questions to consider
Gather/Organise

What do I know about this?
What do I know about cybersafety?
I know that cybersafety is about being safe online, with your email and many other devices. By giving tips on what to do if you are cyber bullied and what you can do to prevent it.
Have I presented material about cybersafety before?
No, I’ve just seen work on cybersafety done by others.
Do I understand what I have to do? Is there anything I don’t understand about this activity?
I think I understand everything
What skills and knowledge will I be using?
Features from Gimp
Past knowledge from using programs
Borders and effects

Identify

What is the task?
What do I want to accomplish in creating a poster? How do I want to interest others in my topic? Do I want to present an informative poster that can be used as a reference? Do I want to present a warning poster that alerts people to danger? Or some combination of those goals?
I want to get the message out to as many people as I can and I want to use colour and big bold fonts to interest people. Also give some tips on what to do if you get cyber bullied and to stop it from happening.

What do I need in order to do this? What materials do I have? What resources do I need? Should I do more research on cybersafety?

I should research maybe just in case there is some good information that I might have missed.
Who will be looking at this work? How can I appeal to other students?
Teachers, parents and students to have it to appeal to other students by using bright colours and using images.
Are there examples of cybersafety posters or materials that I can look at?
Yes I can look at them at school in class
What are the obstacles? What problems may happen?
I might not save my work and accidentally press a button and lose it all or I might forget to add something in the project and my grade could suffer.
Can I draw a diagram that will help me to visualise my work? Draw some rough ideas for posters.
Drawing my draft idea will help me to see if I like it or need to change something, or come up with a new idea. And it will be good because when I do my proper copy I can look at my draft and copy it.
Generate

How many ideas can I think of?
List as many ideas as possible.
What aspects of cybersafety interest me? What would I want to see on a poster?

I want it to be appealing to people and for it to stand out. The aspect I like about cyber safety is what types of technology people use to cyber bully and what people say.
Consider the advantages and disadvantages of each idea.
Are there any other subjects to consider?

There are disadvantages to one idea, if I like a part on bullying I should just look at other aspects on bullying so I can decide if I like looking at that one or not

What resources (books, websites, etc.) have I been provided with?

I have been getting information from the internet.
What do other people think about this? Do others think I have a good idea?
They might but they might not like it because their taste might be different.
Decide

Which is the best idea?
Which are the best ideas? Prioritise the 3-5 best ideas.
I like how I have a bright background it make the font stand out
Having pictures makes it more interesting
I like my catch phrase, “Block out Cyber Bullying”

Explain your reasons for choosing these. What are the arguments for and against each idea?
My catch phrase is short and it gets the message out.
But my Teacher might not like it, because they might not get the message.
Having a picture is good because it shows an example of what I’m trying to explain.
But one picture might not be enough.
My background makes the font stand out.
It might not be a nice colour to some people

Which idea is the best one for completing the task? Which idea is best for accomplishing my goal?
Having all my information because that’s what the poster is all about.
What is my plan? What are the steps to follow?
Think of good tips on how to prevent cyber bullying and give the consequences so people can understand what could happen
How will I keep track of my progress? What are my milestones?
I will look at my work and think of what i could have done better and remember it for next time.
Possible list of steps:
· Research and gather material about my subject.
· Revise material and compose text for poster.
· Create graphics.
· Take pictures. Edit pictures.
· Assemble text and images into poster.
· Review poster and modify as needed.

Part Two – Implementing and Evaluating

Questions to consider
Implement

Let’s do it!

Am I doing this correctly? You may need to review your goal for this activity.
I’m not doing some things correctly but like I said, I’ll try do better next time
Do I need to revise my plan? As you continue, you may discover facts that require changing the plan.
No I don’t need to
Am I satisfied with the text/graphics/pictures that I have created?
No because I could have done better if I was familiar with Gimp

Evaluate

How well did I do?
Did I complete the task as originally set out? Did I solve the problem?
No, there were some things I wanted but Gimp didn’t have it so I had to change the way the poster looked
Is the text as interesting or informative as intended?
No, I could have put a border around it or made my font more interesting
Are the graphics and images appealing?
No, I needed to add another image
What have I done?
I have cropped and scaled my image and rotated it.
What have I done really well? Is there anything that stands out as particularly good?
My title but nothing else really, it was only my first time so I did do that well.

Is there anything that needs improvement? Should I go back and redo anything?

Yes, I need to put a border on it and I need to add effects

Am I ready to communicate my ideas or show/display my work to others? Is the poster ready to be shown to others?

No, I need to get better at using Gimp, then I can show my poster to others
Communicate

Let’s tell someone!
(You may have answered some of these questions early on during the planning stages.)

Who can I tell? Who is my audience?

I can tell some of my friends and teacher and family

What is the best way to present this to my audience?

By printing it out

Showing them what really can happen online and the danger
Did I include the right text/graphics/images to inform and appeal to other students?
To inform but not appeal
Learn from experience

What have I learned?
If I had to start this activity all over again, how would I improve my performance? Would I change my work habits? Would I use a different subject or different design? Would I only make small changes?
I would know what to do for some things, change work habits by exploring Gimp and giving everything a go.

How have I improved since that last time I worked on a similar task?

I haven’t worked on a similar task.

Have I learned anything about my subject or about appealing to others or about presenting information?

Yes, that effects and colours really count, they appeal to lots of people and things that capture their attention.
Can I use that elsewhere?
On other posters.

How has my thinking changed as a result of this work?

I have now learnt that I need to give everything a go and don’t hold back, it could affect my grading
What skills have I learned and developed?
I have learnt how to transfer a picture onto the computer from a camera and use Gimp and learn about it.
Can these skills be applied to other subjects/activities?
Yes especially for transferring pictures
What problems did I have to solve? Were there obstacles in developing ideas, researching material, or presenting the material? How were they overcome?
I had to figure out how to get a background and other things. I had to find things that I had never seen before

How did I use the strengths of others to help me?

They showed me what to do if i got stuck which helped me alot.
